Moniteau County Emergency Dispatch and Emergency Management are excited to announce the launch of our new Public Reporting Application for Non-Emergency Incidents.

Originally developed to assist with non-emergency reporting following severe weather events, this tool now provides residents with a quick and convenient way to report a variety of non-emergency public safety concerns directly to the appropriate agencies.

Why We Built It

During the July 4th 2026 storm, Moniteau County experienced damaging winds exceeding 70 mph. In just a short period of time, our 911 Center received more than 100 non-emergency calls reporting power outages, downed trees, damaged power lines, and roadway obstructions.

While every report was important, each non-emergency call also tied up a dispatcher and a 911 phone line that may have been needed for someone experiencing a true emergency.

Our goal is simple:

Keep 911 available for emergencies while still ensuring non-emergency issues are reported quickly and efficiently.

How It Works

Every report submitted through the Public Reporting App is automatically displayed on the Moniteau Emergency Portal Map Dashboard, allowing Emergency Pesonnel to view incidents in real time, identify areas of greatest need, and prioritize resources more efficiently.

This shared operational picture helps improve coordination during storms and other large-scale events while ensuring reports reach the appropriate agency.

When Should I Use the App?

Use the Public Reporting App for non-emergency issues that need attention but do not require an immediate emergency response.  Make submissions only when it is safe to do so.  Provide as much information as you are able, pictures are very helpful, ensure you are submitting the precise location of the incident on the map.

If you have an emergency, a crime in progress, a fire, a medical emergency, or any situation where life or property is in immediate danger, always CALL 911.

By using the Public Reporting App for non-emergency concerns, you're helping keep emergency phone lines open for those who need them most.
